My Top Twenty Tunes of 2017 (okay actually albums, but I was going for alliteration)

Yeah I know, that title is pretty long.

I hope you can forgive Balto and I

So its the penultimate day of the year, and I’m sure you’re seeing top 10 lists EVERYWHERE, and I know you’re probably sick of them. Luckily for you guys I try to put my own twist on things. So this will be a top 20  list of my favorite albums that came out  in 2017 across multiple genres. Now let me be clear: I am in no way saying that these 20 albums are the best albums that came out this year, but these are the albums that I liked and returned to the most. The criteria that I mostly based this list off of was replay value. So basically, the number of spins I gave an album helped determine the albums placement on my list. Now that I’ve explained that, let’s get into it.

And there you have it.  This list was difficult to make because I listened to SO MUCH new music, but I also spent a large chunk of the year in a nostalgia pit listening to songs from 2009-2013. However it would seem that whenever I was listening to music from this year, it was mostly R&B-which makes sense because 2017 was a great year for the genre. In addition to the aforementioned albums we had a steady stream of singles from Frank Ocean, and a great Miguel record. I’m interested to see what genre occupies my soundscape in the upcoming year.
